The story: This was my father's car, his back got to bad and he got to old to enjoy it any more, so he gave it to me in March 2013. Since I have had this Vette I have done the following:
Done by me: Complete tune up (plugs, new MSD cap and rotor, new advance springs and weights, already had accell coil on it) Reman Quadrajet Carb Upper Radiator Hose K and N filter Retorqued Valve Covers Replace rubber hose from tank to steel fuel lines (tank side) Fresh Oil change Fresh Trans fluid, flush and fill Fresh buff and Wax at Fuller's Detail shop
Done by D and M Corvette (Downers Grove Illinois, one of the leading Corvette shops around)
Front main seal Harmonic Balancer Rubber fuel line from fuel pump to fuel lines (engine side) Trans cooler flex lines (from radiator to trans) Engine Bay degreasing Mechanically the only things wrong are: Slight power steering leak ( seals are weeping, fill about every two weeks) Tachometer needs rebuild ( sell kits on ebay) Clock needs rebuild (sell kits on ebay)
Cosmetically : One scratch on front driver side fender One scratch on rear passenger quarter Primer black rear bumper Interior deluxe door panels (chrome, wood and carpet) have wear cracks in the elbow part
Just discovered that under the bra on the front there is no front bumper
This awesome car runs, drives and shifts GREAT. My father stored it in a pole barn when not in use, and I have kept it parked in my two car garage when not in use. It has aftermarket dual exhaust that exits out of either side in front of the rear tires. This car GOES. My father told me that the owner before him had rebuilt the motor and trans at approx 75k miles. The paint job does have some chips here and there, but still shows glossy and SHINES. Interior is very clean with original floor mats, and only sign of wear is the door panels as mentioned above. This Stingray C-3 has the deluxe interior, and all gauges work except for the tach and clock. It has the aftermarket radio that appears stock but is actually digital with a aux in (mp3) plug. All Vacuum systems work great (headlights, wipers) and the heater and defrost blow hot. The rear tires could use replacing in the next 5k miles, the front are nearly new tread. The brakes work well, but may need to be bled due to gripping pulling to the right sometimes.
I have personally put over 2k miles on this vehicle, and driving with the t-tops off is a blast (comes with t-top holders). From 35 to 100 this car is a rocket and shifts smooth. I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle anywhere, it does not run hot, oil pressure is great. I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability, and have listed the condition as well as I can. |
